Bruxelles ma belle (Poubelle?)

Brussels is a special city for many reasons - first of all it holds a lot of history, being an incredibly important economical hub throughout the Later Medieval Ages as well as the Early Modern Era. Secondly, it is now the center of European power, where leaders of Europe and the whole world frequently gather.

Finally, in spite of this significance, Brussels isn’t a jewel to look at. It’s poorly maintained and badly run by the local government. I therefore decided to great a page dedicated to the beauty and desolation of this city.

I’ll try to shoot mostly with my analog camera.

Place Poelaert

This photo was the trigger for this photo collection. Poelaert Square lies right next to the mighty Palace of Justice and is one of the most visited squares of Brussels. It offers a beautiful view over the city’s skyline.
